Then it Begins

This was written for our 30th anniversary in 2005 and the words are taken from a collage of poems and writings we gave to each other over the years. They seemed to be made for the song melody and with an added dash of present day mixed in = the song took shape…

Lyrics

Crouched under branches,
the birds still sing,
as the summer rain,
dusts off the morning dreams.

Sounds from the street,
seep into the room,
as the lawn apparatus begin their debut.

The geometry of the ironing board,
reflects sunlight across your toes.
The scent of flowers as the rain subsides,
I feel your touch and the earth abides.

Then it begins,
I fall for you all over again.
There is no end,
just wanted you to know my friend.

Sometimes it hits you,
and you just can’t believe,
it was so simple,
so clear and clean.

Sometimes it’s insight
as the clue is revealed,
like a mystery novel,
in a page concealed.
You draw me in
and I drink in your muse
aged like a wine,
the taste of you.

Then it begins,
I fall in love all over again.
There is no end,
Just wanted you to know my friend
